A generous donation from 'The Buffs'

Dementia Harborough today (21 January) received a very generous donation from The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes ('The Buffs') in Market Harborough.

Peter Hirst, the Chair of Dementia Harborough (right) can be seen receiving a cheque for £1,550 from Phil McKnight, Secretary of The Silver Coronation Lodge of The Buffs and some of the members.

The Buffs have raised this money throughout 2017 from a series of fundraising events, collections, sponsored activities and donations, and the support of the customers of The Admiral Nelson pub where the Lodge meets every Sunday at 12.30pm.

We are very grateful for this support which will help us continue to provide our activities to our members.

The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes ('RAOB' or 'The Buffs') is a fraternal, benevolent and social organisation in the UK. Despite its name it has no royal patronage, it was founded in 1822 (well after The Flood), it is not a recognised Order of chivalry, and has no connection with buffaloes! The organisation aids its members and their dependents, and other charitable organisations. The Market Harborough Lodge was founded in 1978, the silver anniversary of The Queen's coronation, hence its name.
