VOLUNTEERING WITH US

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please read our volunteering policy and code of conduct and the general helper role description to understand more and to check you are able to commit to the time involved.

We welcome people with suitable skills, experience and time to give, who support what we do, enjoy being with others and want to help us make an impact on loneliness and isolation for people living with dementia.

Previous volunteering experience is not required, but good interpersonal skills and a can do attitude are essential. Induction and training, including dementia awareness, will be provided.

All volunteers start as general helpers at sessions and must be able to attend regularly for an initial period.

As well as general helpers at our café sessions, other roles within the organisation include the following – please ask if you would like more information.

  • Responding to membership enquiries, keeping registration and attendance records

  • Charity administration eg incoming mail, record keeping

  • Organising events, trips and activities

  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers

  • Member welfare support

  • Producing our monthly newsletter

  • Maintaining our website and producing printed materials

To apply, please download the application form and complete it with as much detail as possible, including your preferred role, and return to Volunteering@dementiaharborough.org

Please note that you will need to supply contact details of 2 people who can provide a character reference.
