We were pleased to go along to Husbands Bosworth Playing Fields on Sunday 6th October for the village's annual Conker Contest and Welly Wanging event. As well as these activities there were hot food and drink stands, other traditional games and stalls, Morris dancers and a band.
Funds raised are being split between Dementia Harborough and Canine Partners a charity providing assistance dogs.
Update
We have since been delighted to learn that Dementia Harborough and Canine Partners will each receive over £650 from the day. This will come in very useful as we have a number of activities coming up in the next few months in addition to our normal monthly meetings - our trip coach trip to Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood, Christmas lunch at The Waterfront restaurant in Market Harborough, our Christmas party, and a trip to Curve theatre to see West Side Story in January.
We are so grateful to Eleanor Murphy and everyone else involved in organising and supporting the Conker Contest day, and for choosing Dementia Harborough as one of their charities.
